These paintings are landscape memories.

I spend lots of time on the road, driving around and unconsciously glimpsing configurations of fields, mountains, skies, often in the corner of my eye. These come out later when I have time to paint, not as fixed memories but rather sometimes I have to almost dig them out, and other times they ask to exit from my mind.

Then when I see these landscapes afterwards, in reality, I am often shocked and surprised.
